Dream big, because you never know when that dream might become a reality...
Ever since I was five years old, I've wanted to be on a stage playing music, anywhere. I would pull the mattress off my bed and onto the floor, gather my family around my mattress-stage, and would lipsync to whatever was on the radio. Those were the days...
But it wasn't until I was fourteen that I actually ever picked up a guitar, and even then, I really just wanted to skip the whole learning-how-to-play-music part and go straight to the big-time.
It's funny, now seven years later, my dream of traveling and playing music is becoming a reality. And yet, it is nothing like what I had always imagined.
Instead of performing on a stage, so as to bring attention to myself, I get to worship on a stage, to bring attention to the Savior of the Universe. I am so blessed to be able to say that.
In this blog, Josh and I will story-tell from our experiences from the next three months of living out of a Honda Accord, traveling about 7,000 miles, sleeping on couches, and playing music in parts of this country that we have only read about in books.
Tomorrow, I will hop on a plane. Hopefully, Josh will be there to pick me up on the other end, somewhere near his home in Virginia.
May the journey begin...
